Promoting pioneering technologies with an impactful stand
The challenge
To design a technology-focused stand that provided a welcoming space for the sales team to demo the Hitachi product and meet-and-greet visitors.

An impressive and well thought-out stand that delivered its objectives with beautiful build quality and well communicated product and branding.
We worked with Hitachi to design and produce their stand at the ultimate rail market show, Railtex show, at the NEC in Birmingham. This was the first time Hitachi had exhibited at Railtex in a solo capacity and as such, the company had more creative freedom to develop a space that worked for them.
Working closely with the team at Hitachi, the stand was designed with several key aims in mind. Firstly, to showcase the product offering with live demonstration areas, including large screens, a touch screen for interactive experiences, and a lectern for presentation. Secondly, to create an open and welcoming space which promoted easy and meaningful interaction with Railtex visitors.
Regular meetings were held with the sale and development teams to fully implement technical requirements and provide solutions that would work well in a trade show environment. Ensuring that their technology worked seamlessly on the show days was one of the most critical factors for us.
It was also important that the exhibition stand conformed to the Hitachi brand guidelines. Pantone references were colour matched across the artworks to ensure consistency standards were met and the Hitachi Hero red was used to provide a fresh pop of colour throughout the stand. The flooring was split into 2 distinct zones with an oak wood finish for the presentation area and a luxury dark grey carpet for the meeting space.
Storage on the trade stand was a key consideration, and the final design featured an integrated lockable room for staff belongings as well as a lockable lectern for tablets and stand electronics. Secure storage gave them the confidence to leave their stands overnight without any worry.
Throughout the process, we created and shared photo-realistic 3D stand visualisations to help understand how the space was shaping up. With assets provided by Hitachi, we designed all the graphics for the stand and built all the custom furniture items. We also pre-built the 4 metre tall trade stand in our facility, enabling the team to see the stand prior to the show and develop a show-day strategy.
The stand was delivered and installed smoothly at Railtex show at the NEC. Our in-house production team worked to their usual high standard to ensure the stand was perfect for when the Hitachi team arrived.
The show was a huge success for Hitachi, exceeding their expectations with many high-calibre visitors to the stand. We look forward to working with them again at future shows.
