The challenge

To create the physical embodiment of the new Emerald Works branding and create an inviting and eye-catching space.

The result

An impressive Learning Tech exhibition stand that couldn’t be missed at the show – the perfect platform to launch the new brand.

Having worked with Good Practice on their event projects for many years, we were delighted to work on the launch of Emerald Works, a new company formed from Good Practice and a variety of other top learning technology businesses.

The project was a Learning Tech exhibition stand to launch the new brand at Europe’s leading organisational learning and technology event, hosted at ExCel in London.

“Our biggest and best stand yet this year at Learning Technologies, thanks to Graphic Mill.

This is our 4th year working with the Graphic Mill team and we gave them our most challenging brief yet. And once again, they delivered it, with great passion.

What I really love about working with Graphic Mill is their can-do attitude. Whatever I throw at them, whatever crazy ideas I have, they never say no. We’ve always worked together to find a solution to make these ideas happen.  They are so experienced in what they do, I have complete trust that they will always deliver something fantastic!

Sai Cook, Emerald Works

The team at Emerald Works were clear from the offset that the launch had to be special, jam-packed full of engaging features and clearly designated zones.

We also wanted to ensure that the fresh new branding was utilised throughout the space as much as possible, from floor through to suspended up high in the hall ceiling. The bright colours and brand shapes would provide much of the inspiration for the final stand design.

We designed the Learning Tech exhibition stand carefully to consider the layout and visitor flow. The team required two meeting areas with coffee-making facilities for comfortable get-togethers with show visitors. We also added in an engaging prize-winning zone, a seated podcast bar area, a huge AV wall, a reception counter and plenty of storage!

There were plenty of elements involved in the Emerald Works 100 square metre stand, but one of the most eye-catching was the massive AV wall. Visitors could interact with the wall via a bespoke-made touch screen podium at the front, and a PA sound system was included for presentations. We worked closely with Smart AV, a supplier of specialist exhibition AV solutions, to deliver this, and the final solution looked and sounded amazing.

The key for this project was high quality woodwork – something we pride ourselves on here at Graphic Mill. Our team got to work on the large-format graphics, bespoke interactive prize spinner, and podcast area in order to produce an exciting stand experience.

Our project management team arranged all the site services, including risk assessment method statements, electrics and rigging plans – one less thing for our client to worry about!

The final result was striking. The floor was a mix of vinyl and coloured carpets, with printed floor shapes to highlight key areas. Suspended acrylic shapes were layered on the backwall and provided a splash of colour to the structure fins.

The podcast area enabled visitors listen to the Emerald Works audio content, and the huge AV wall allowed them to interact with the unique games. The an eye-catching (and loud!) spinner was hugely popular, offering the chance to win various prizes.

Above the Learning Tech exhibition stand was 2 large suspended branding boxes, visible from all across the hall. Combined with the high-level illuminated logo, the stand was one Emerald Works could be proud of to launch their new global business.

The Learning Technologies Show is an inspiring and innovative place for both exhibitors and attendees. This has to be one of the most exciting and feature-packed stands we’ve ever had the pleasure of working on and we look forward to helping Emerald Works again in the future!
