Highlighting the Mind Tools learning resource from Emerald Works through an eye-catching and welcoming stand.
The challenge
To create a social and technology-driven stand for Emerald Works with an emphasis on the playful nature of the Mind Tools brand.
The result
A bright, bold, and colourful stand with distinct zones, plenty of screens and high-level branding.
We’re proud to have worked with Emerald Works for many years now, providing our exhibition services at events across the learning technologies sector. This year the team wanted to create something extra special and working alongside agency Haze Creative, that’s what we delivered.
A tall 4m central column was built and branded with colourful seamless graphics, which, combined with the 2 high-level rigging boxes, made the Mind Tools logo visible across the show hall. The column starred 2 huge 70” screens with vibrant video content, and display shelving for giveaways and literature. A lockable storage room inside the column provided the perfect place for hiding away staff belongings and extra stock.
The column was created from our stock of Aluvision framework, a modular and environmentally friendly way of creating structures with reusable graphics. Our aluminium frames provide excellent stability and are reconfigurable for a variety stand layouts that can be used again and again.
We included plenty of lighting on the stand, using stylish down lights to highlight the column graphics, and powerful flood lights to increase the ambient lighting level. Custom-built lightboxes surrounded the perimeter and provided punchy imagery and zone structure. The lightboxes were supported with wooden fin uprights, aiding visibility into the space with an interesting aesthetic. Additionally, 43” screens and graphics were applied to the backs for even more content.
In the bespoke seating zone, we added a tulip table, comfy wooden benches and custom-made cylinder stools to create an inviting space. A standing interactive bar featured 4 iPads with engaging demo content, safely secured in place with lockable mounts. The bar also doubled as a storage cupboard and was fully branded in bright printed graphics.
The stand flooring was raised for easy cable management, and then covered with a plush carpet which featured the Mind Tools brand shapes in multiple colours. A ramped stainless-steel edge was applied to finish the floor and provided wheelchair access onto the stand.
As part of the project design process, we created a true-to-life 3D model of the stand in CAD software to communicate how the space would come together. This enables our design team to make changes quickly and generate realistic visualisations of the stand. We provided easy-to-use artwork templates for the Emerald Works graphic design team, and you can read more about the graphics process here.
Our project team completed all the required documentation, including risk assessment method statements, stand drawings, and rigging plans, using our expertise to make the process easier for the customer. Prior to the show we pre-built the stand in our facility to guarantee our usual high levels of quality and a consistent colour match between graphics. The stand build in ExCel ran smoothly and our top installation team delivered to our client’s high expectations.
Emerald Works were delighted with the stand, which as well as exhibiting to the Learning Technologies crowds, they also used to celebrate the 300th episode of their podcast. We look forward to working with the team again in future.
